Made from up-cycled fishing glass floats that can be dated back as early as Norway in 1840’s, these earrings are a piece of worldwide maritime history. In 1950-70 these glass floats were replaced with plastic, styrofoam and aluminium making the rare few that wash ashore as somewhere between 185 - 55 years old! Made by hand and bezel set in 100% post consumer recycled sterling silver these bubbly teal earrings nod to the hard working hands that crafted these floats, potentially, 185 years ago.
Sustainable and ethically made jewelry is better for the planet than fast fashion and it is my goal to offer an enticing alternative to fast fashion by making unique and timeless pieces that you can mix and match through out your lifetime. I make everything by hand and source materials from other small businesses with similar values and ethics.
